Workflows - Loop Lockouts

Understanding Loop Locks

In certain scenarios within a workflow, there's a risk of inadvertently creating a loop. This occurs when two processes continuously feed into each other or loop back to themselves, creating an endless cycle of actions. Such loops can significantly hamper the performance of Gold Star Pro and lead to considerable complications. However, there's no need for concern as we have devised a solution for this problem.

We have introduced a feature known as Loop Lock to workflows, specifically designed to identify and halt these unintended loops.

How It Operates

Should Campaigns, Triggers, or Workflows initiate 50 starts or carry out action executions for the same contact within a span of 30 minutes, they will be subjected to a "Loop Lock." To put it simply:

Suppose you're repeatedly adding the same contact to a Campaign or Workflow, hitting a total of 50 times within 29 minutes. At that moment, Loop Lock kicks in. An error message will then be displayed at the top of your screen, alerting you to the situation.

In the event you come across this error, there's no need to worry. Simply contact our Support team. We'll examine your Campaign, Trigger, or Workflow to assist in resolving the loop problem and unlocking it.

It's important to note that while loops can be troublesome, with Loop Lock, you're well-supported. For those interested in exploring further topics of this nature, we recommend reading our article on Race Conditions in Workflows.
